Launching NAP-GSP

14 June 2013: The National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) commenced operations on 14 June 2013. The NAP-GSP is one of a number of initiatives in place to support Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to advance their NAP process.

The programme was officially launched following endorsement of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) CEO.

Specialized UN Agencies collaborating on the NAP-GSP include: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), World Health Organization (WHO), The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Other partners include the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Global Water Partnership (GWP).

Partnerships are also being formed with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) amongst other collaborating organisations.
