NAP Expo 2014: Catalyzing action and support for the NAP process
The second NAP Expo was held in Bonn from 8-9 August 2014, organised by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) under the UNFCCC. Over 200 delegates from 47 LDC countries, as well as non-LDC government representatives, and adaptation experts from donor organisations, NGOs, universities, and UN agencies exchanged experiences and lessons learned - to mobilise action and support for the NAP process in LDCs.

Infographics: Visualising entry points and next steps for the NAP process in LDCs
Cambodia and Niger presented infographics on the NAP process at the NAP Expo. The posters, developed in cooperation with NAP-GSP and partners identify steps and entry points for initiating the NAP process, within the framework of the LEG Guidelines. The exercise helps to increase understanding of the NAP process, and can be used in national discussions on the NAP process both within the countries and as part of exchange on NAPs.

Ongoing UNDP support to countries on the NAP process
Since 2013, UNDP has partnered with UNEP
and other agencies in delivering support to countries through the NAP-GSP, funded by LDCF. In addition, UNDP continues to extend support to a number of countries to secure resources for NAP-related work from the LDCF, SCCF and bilateral sources.

NAP-GSP country support update
Many LDCs are now working towards initiating their NAP processes within the framework of the LEG Technical Guidelines. The NAP-GSP team is responding to country requests for technical support. Work is currently ongoing to assist DRC, Comoros, Liberia, Guinea Bissau and Malawi in stock-taking as well as national meetings and work-shops to promote better understanding of the NAP process among country stakeholders.

UNEP: Advancing elements of NAP processes
UNEP is providing support to LDCs and
other vulnerable countries to advance their NAP processes through their collaboration in the NAP-GSP, as well as other global, regional and national programmes.UNEP's NAP support assistance includes revising existing plans to address climate risk, setting up national coordination mechanisms for climate change, and implementing climate information systems to support long term adaptation planning.

GWP NAP-related activities in Cameroon
The Global Water Partnership (GWP) is enhancing local technical, analytical and institutional capacity for climate resilient development with the Water Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) in eight countries and four river basins. A WACDEP training in Cameroon was held recently, to develop capacity and knowledge in the investment options that enhance water security for climate resilient growth and development. » Read more
